Re-Starting STAT NEWS Blog

As you can see by the archive, I started this blog almost two years ago but didn't continue. Probably just came back from CUE, Palm Springs and was all excited about what I had heard and seen there about blogging in education. But I use the stat_news listserv more that I do blog, so this site went untouched since then.
Then today I tried to find my blogs (AlanLutz, and STATNEWS) and Google said perhaps they were under a different name and gave me some simple steps to associate my old blogs under my GMAIL account. It was easy and painless and now I'm back in business. I'll try to mirror what I have on the stat_news email as well as any new thoughts I might post here.
You're welcome to join in here as I've also invited you to on stat_news. Although I have been underwhelmed by the response so far. Some brave souls (Tim Young comes to mind) have tried out their power of also posting on stat_news. I found out at a recent district workshop on "Filling the Seats" held at my school of St. Paul's, Orange, CA, that many of you at least are reading and even looking forward to, my stat_news and any technical advice that may be coming from STAT. So that's good to know. I am also working on enlarging our list of recipients who get our news. In fact, my trial web site http://www.alanlutz.com/, where I directed people to complete a form and their name would be added to the stat_news list. Worked well for a while when people used it. But you're already on the list or you wouldn't be reading this, I suppose.
I am also going to be following some other fellow "tech in education bloggers" and if you want to share with us whom you're reading, let's do that too.
Raining and sunning at the same time today. Have a great one! Alan
